Villages of Provence Tour

Meet your professional tour guide at your cruise ship, hotel or private residence.

Board a comfortable minivan.

Start a day trip away from the beaten track to explore the authentic Provence, its vineyards, its lavender fields, its picturesque villages, its colorful markets.

Our Villages of Provence Tour includes:

  • Scenic drive away from the beaten track across the picturesque countryside of Provence to the Natural Park of the Lubéron, the heart of Provence with traditional peaceful villages and protected nature.

  • Lourmarin: Nested between vineyards and forests, Lourmarin has a great heritage thanks to its castle. Enjoy a private visit of the sixteenth century castle to learn about the life in Provence in this period. Today the castle is also hosting an artist foundation. Follow the walking tour in the center of the village, enjoy its relaxed atmosphere, its authentic shops and lovely cafes.

  • Roussillon: A beautiful and colorful village in the middle of the French Colorado. From here your guide will invite you for a walk into the French Colorado Canyon. This Canyon is quite small and walking into is easy and safe. A ten minute walk will lead you to a superb panorama of the canyon. From the top of the canyon, Roussillon also offers a superb panorama over the Grand Lubéron Valley and its lavender fields.
  • Take some time for lunch in Roussillon before heading to Gordes.

  • Gordes: Awarded as the most beautiful French village Gordes is a hilltop village built in the eleventh century and offering an impressive castle. Here the specialty is the dry stone construction. All the buildings have to respect this rule. Even the new ones. You will love the view from to top of the hill of Gordes.
  • Sénanque Abbey: If you tour the Lubéron Natural Park in the heart of Provence you must not and cannot miss the Sénanque Abbey. Close to Gordes, a ten minutes drive will lead you to this jewel of history and architecture from the twelfth century. The monks of this community are producing their own lavender oil and welcome the visitors.

  • The Lubéron Natural Park gives also an opportunity to enjoy a drive into the lavender fields and visit the lavender museum. The lavender museum is showing a rare collection of tools and machines used to process the lavender oil since the middle ages. There you can also try exclusive creams and cosmetics made with the finest lavender of Provence.

  • During the tour your private guide will recommend you to stop in the village which has its market day and guide you through the market to help you taste the best local specialties.

Lunch will be organized with your guide according to your wishes and your budget and is not included.

It was Simply a Wonderful tour. It was a great day for us from the beginning of the tour to the end. The guide was Sylvie. We got answers to every question we asked and wondered about the beautiful region. She is very knowledgeable and polite. We’re going to Cannes next year and we are looking forward to this tour!
    Many thanks.

We were docked in Marseille on the Regent. Our guide Jean was waiting for us on the pier and we had a great day with him.

My wife and I had a great time today visiting Gordes, Fountain de Vaucluse, L’Isle sur la Sorgue, Roussillon, and Lourmarin. We had enough time in each town and our guide Roman is the greatest guide I ever had on a tour. A real lecturer with a perfect english. He also took us by the Pont Julien. We were exhausted after the 9.5 hours, but glad to have seen so much of the Luberon region on our 1st day in Provence. Now will spend a more relaxed time visiting towns at a slower pace.

We were a family of 4 staying in Avignon. We asked what area of Provence was the best for a day tour and were recommended L’Isle sur Sorgue, Fontaine de Vaucluse, Sénanque Abbey, Gordes and Roussillon.
If you can do this tour in Provence don’t hesitate. All the villages are so authentic and charming. Our guide Roman took us to the market and helped us to taste some local products direct from the farmers.
We really had a perfect day.

There was a group of 7 of us staying near Bonnieux and we employed the guiding of Provence Private Tour for three days where there the guide was Sylvie and she was phenomenal.
She has so much history, passion, and knowledge to share about Provence that it truly made our week there an amazing trip to remember. She also provided amazing restaurant and winery selections, we never ate poorly and all the visits were superb.
I would highly recommend Provence Private Tour for any guiding occasion in Provence, Sylvie’s English was terrific and she easily entertained our group while we were there.
    Thank you !

We were a family of 7 people (4 adults,3 children) and were docked in Marseille on the Oasis of the seas. Our guide (Pascale) was waiting for us at the port of Marseille. The minivan was very comfortable. Pascale has perfect English and she was very knowledgeable. We all loved her so much. The tour was amazing! During our tour we learned many information about the history, the region, the country from our guide. We talked with her about plenty of things about French culture. We loved Pascale and our tour. Pascale drove us back to our cruise ship on time. It was a great day. This was exactly the best tour we ever had. I would highly recommend this travel agent and Pascale.
    Thank you so much.

It was a great tour from start to finish.
We were on a cruise ship that one docked in Marseille. We met our guide at the port of Marseille. Christophe was an incrediable guide. So knowledgeable, so friendly, superb English. He was also driver/guide,his minivan was so comfortable. I wanted to do this tour in particular, I thought we would understand this area better by visiting smaller places. Indeed, I was not wrong. The places that we visited were very authentic and fascinating. We had a chance to buy local products. My husband and I had an enjoyable day. We would like to say thanks again. I recommend this tour to everyone. Really worth to see.
