The Pont du Gard is the only remaining piece of the aqueduct that was bringing water to Nîmes. The original aqueduct was 50 kilometers long.
In Pont du Gard your guide will tell you everything about the roman empire and the reason why they built such an aqueduct. You will walk on the construction to cross the river and walk up hill to see the aqueduct from above.
Lunch will be organized with your guide according to your wishes and is not included.

Great tour guide –
A wonderful tour with our guide Romain.
He picked us up at our hotel in Aix en Provence and gave us a very nice tour in Avignon and in the Popes Palace. We had lunch in a lovely restaurant in the center and then went to Pont du Gard. All the day was as expected and we didn’t expect to have a guide with a perfect English and an incredible knowledge.
We recommend Romain if you want to explore Provence.

Especially the bridge was an amazing structure. The Palace of the Popes was really huge and fasctinating. This palace must be seen with a real professional guide to understand better about its history and our guide Slvie was perfect.
The palace was located in a beautiful square with nice cafes, restaurants.

We were a party of 15 and they provided a superb coach just for us with Champagne on board.
We pictured ourselves with a glass of Champagne in front of the pont d’avignon before visiting the town with our guide.
We had a perfect day thanks to our guide Jerome exploring the Pope’s Palace in the Pont du Gard. He was highly informative about past and present times in Avignon.
He found a delicious restaurant for the 15 of us and helped for every little detail about food ordering.
In the afternoon we discovered Pont du Gard which is for me more impressive than the colosseum in Rome.
